I visited the all-inclusive Barceló Maya Palace* with my Aunt Claire in May 2016. I had been to Riviera Maya before, but not at a Barceló hotel. The Maya Palace is actually only one of five hotels on the property. The whole complex is huge. It seemed like their beach front went on forever, and it was beautiful.
We stayed at the Premium Level in the Maya Palace. The Premium Level has a private check-in, is all suites, most with ocean views, and 24 hour room service. Our room was a beautiful Jr. Suite with a full balcony and an ocean view. We had great weather, and all of the colors around the resort are very vivid.
The food was pretty good, and the beach never seemed to get that crowded. We had no trouble finding a seat. Though we had to move around a lot because there were no umbrellas, and the only shade was under the palm trees. I have very pale skin, and would have definitely appreciated more shade.
The pools were massive. You could swim around half the day and not get bored. They had swim up bars, and built in recliners. They were made of tile, and didn’t look that comfortable to me, but lots of people loved them.
All in all, we had a really good time. If you are looking for a big all-inclusive in Mexico, I would definitely recommend the Barceló Maya Palace. The best review I can give is in the pictures.
